Afghan security guard arrested for sexually abusing two Ukrainian girls aged 6 and 7 in refugee center

An Afghan security guard allegedly sexually abused two Ukrainian girls aged 6 and 7 in an asylum center in the Germany city of Meßstetten in Baden-Württemberg, according to a statement issued by the city’s public prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old is currently in custody. According to initial investigation, he has sexually harassed and improperly touched the two girls accommodation. Südwestrundfunk reported on the case.

The children had told their mothers about the incident. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the women then contacted the security service management. The Afghan national was temporarily arrested on the same day and brought before the court on Tuesday.

Ukrainian women and children have been the target of sexual assault from migrants in a number of other cases, in including in Germany and Sweden.
