National dance ensemble announces US-Canadian tour

The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble will go on a North American tour between October 18th and November 4th, commemorating the 170th anniversary of the 1848-1849 Hungarian revolution.

The tour will have performances in Chicago, Clevenald, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Seattle, Vacaville, Mountain View, Los Angeles, San Diego and Fullerton, with the main target audience the Hungarian diaspora in North America.

The company is Hungary’s largest folk ensemble, incidentally also celebrating its 70th anniversary, as its successor, the Ensemble of the Armed Forces was established in 1948. Its current art director is renowned Hungarian choreographer Zoltán Zsuráfszky.
