In October, German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier sent a letter to President Andrzej Duda after the Polish president had contracted coronavirus

Duda stated that he had just ended his fight with the virus successfully and one of the first things he did when he returned to office work was to compose a response letter to his German counterpart.

“Unfortunately, the second wave of Covid-19 is not sparing our societies and states, which have to fight against this great challenge. In this difficult time, any gestures of solidarity gain special value. I thank you even more for the proposal of potential help from Germany,” he wrote.

Duda assured that Poland is also ready to tightly cooperate with Germany to combat the effects of the pandemic.
