The liberal crisis that the West is facing is no longer just a “cold,” Dariusz Karłowicz said in an interview for wPolityce.pl. He explained that data released by EU institutions has shown that there is a high level of dissatisfaction with the current political order.

“What is more important is that I’m talking about the spiritual state of the largest countries of the so-called old Union,” he underlined, adding, that this crisis appears not only in data, but also on the political landscape in which parties skeptical towards the current order are gaining more support.

Liberalism used to be important because of its role in opposing Communism after the Second World War, said Marek A. Cichocki, but it later became a kind of hegemony.

“Now the liberals are terrified, because the status quo, which it has been dominating for the last 30 years, is creaking,” said Dariusz Gawin.
