A 22-year-old Algerian fell out of his truck on the D1 highway, with the man ending up in a ditch without serious injury. Police detained him and handed him over to a migrant facility.

Police received information about the foreigner on Tuesday afternoon. The announcer said that an unknown man had fallen out of the truck chassis on the 100th kilometer of the highway. His body bounced off the road to the edge of the ditch.

“The man complained of chest pain, so rescuers took him to a hospital in Jihlava for examination. He then traveled from the hospital with the police to the Foreign Police Department,“ said police spokeswoman Dana Čírtková.

He did not have any documents or permission to enter the Czech Republic. With the help of an interpreter, it was discovered that he was a 22-year-old Algerian whose target was Italy. He ended up in a facility in Vyšní Lhoty.

“His journey did not end tragically just by coincidence. If the body remained to lie in the lanes, there was a risk that he could be hit by other passing vehicles,“ the spokeswoman warned.
