10-against-1 attack by North African gang in Milan leaves victim hospitalized with substantial injuries

The attack took place in the parking lot of the Bonola shopping center in Milan.

A 22-year-old man was left with a broken leg and other serious injuries following a ten-against-one assault by a gang of North African men in the Italian city of Milan.

The attack took place at around 5 p.m. on Saturday near to the parking lot of the Bonola shopping center in the northwest of the city.

The victim was set upon by approximately 10 males who knocked the man off his feet and continued kicking and punching him as he lay defenseless on the ground before fleeing the scene.

Eyewitnesses to the attack contacted the authorities who arrived shortly after and transported the victim to the Galeazzi hospital in the city. The victim is understood to have suffered a broken leg, dislocation of his right shoulder, and considerable cuts and bruising.

According to Italian newspaper Il Giornale, the victim told police there were approximately 10 assailants, all of whom he described as of North African descent. It is understood he knew at least two of the attackers, having had disagreements with them in the past.

Milanese authorities have launched an investigation into the attack and seek any support in helping to identify those involved.
